PEERS© Social Skill Training
PEERS© Social Skills Training is an evidence-based, parent-assisted intervention to motivate adolescents who are interested in learning ways to make and keep friends and develop more meaningful relationships. During each 90-minute group session, adolescents are taught important social skills by an experienced and PEERS-trained professional and given the opportunity to practice them in sessions during socialization activities.
Parents simultaneously attend separate sessions and are taught how to assist their child in making and keeping friends by providing feedback during weekly socialization homework assignments. The parent group is also a beneficial place for parents to connect with other parents whose children are experiencing similar social struggles!
The PEERS Social Skills Group is currently provided in Waukesha WI, and runs year round (excluding summer months) in 8 week sessions (1 session per week for 8 weeks).
